Hi I bought a 1980 250na when I stripped the engine the follower on the exhaust rocker was badly worn I replaced it on the rebuild but it has happened again has anyone else experienced this is it something to do with the rubbers on the head bolts

Not come across this before, so I don't think it's a common failure. Don't think it could be those bolt seals either, they're to stop oil leaking from the grooves under the cylinders so a massive oil leak would be a problem long before any damage was done. Are the troughs under the cam full of oil? The oil feed is quite complicated with some head bolts used for lubrication & others sealed off. When you get 20 posts, there's a good schematic of the lubrication system in the honda manual in the 'manuals' section of the forum. You could also look at the parts schematics at cmsnl.com to check you've got the copper washers, dowels, seals & oil feed jets in the right places & on the right bolts. What about the camshaft lobe, is that ok?. A photo might help?
