I bought a 'service kit' off ebay for my suzuki van van which I use as a daily ride around bike. The other day it just would not start. I tried everything......eventually swapping the plug for an old one I had kept from when I first bought it....... started first click!
From now on I will only buy from reputable outlets!
(on reflection the oil filter felt a bit..........off...... compared to the one I was taking off but thought it might just be because the one going in wasn't soaking in oil, crud etc so just put it in..............I'll be changing that soon too!)
You live and learn!

Considering that my bike seems to be running a bit hot with new plugs in, think I'd better check... Didn't know fake plugs were even a thing..!

I do wonder whether these reports of plug gaps closing up are down to these fake plugs being longer than the proper NGK.... I wouldnt think the fakes are longer (they might be) as anyone could spot them easily, probably more likely that they are simply made of cheap inferior materials and that will have a massive effect on performance just because a plug is the front line of your ignition system. If the electrode that you adjust to gap a plug is made from rubbish its likely to distort from the heat and extreme conditions in the combustion chamber (if it opens up it could make a mess of your slugs, if it closes up itll most likely feel like running out of juice). A company like ngk will have strict qc and any materials that dont make the grade will simply be sent back to the supplier (I used to be qc at a firm that made suspension bushes and iso9002 runs right through the manufacturing process) as for the fakes, the insulators probably rubbish ditto the core and electrodes, probably best avoided
