Hi all,
I read with interest on another thread identifying what a bike originally looked like when new. If I post my frame/engine number would somebody mind doing the same please?
Cheers

According to the V5
Engine CB400NE2108XXX
Frame JHMCB400N2108XXX
On a W plate.
No pics just yet as its in pieces having new pistons but rest assured its not original with many mods!
Cheers

CB400N-A. If a U.K bike, it would have been black or metallic red from brand new.

I like the sound of red 😀
I feel I have been bitten by a bug that is compelling me to get my bike back to how it should look. I don't expect to get near to anything like some of top drawers bikes I've seen on here but maybe something in that ball park.
Hmmm... When is pay day? 😂

So do you have any evidence (under the sprayed blue panels) to see if she was originally supplied in the 'Candy Bourgogne Red'. ? Egg sighting times Noddy.

I'll have a look see 😀
I've already been pricing up a respray and how I might explain to Mrs noddy why my bike had changed colour! Many purchases slip under the radar but even she would spot that 😜

In NA livery both colours look good, but of course black is faster

Black being a very much darker and slightly slower version of silver....

I agree with you there Dan, but I couldn't possibly have said it, as I couldn't cope with all the flak that would come my way from a certain silver bike rider whom I was holding up last Sunday..

Red 400's go like the proverbial off a shovel. In your dreams, Dan. These bikes must have been originally Silver. Bless you my child.

Red is for danger, danger of getting beat if you are on a silver bike.
