I have been all over Europe on my trusted old CB500, daily mileages of up to about 500 miles, never missed a beat. On the SD I used to run up and down to Manchester from South Wales quite regularly without ever breaking down. I personally think it is a case of "use it or lose it", if you run things regularly and keep them well maintained they tend to last longer and run sweeter than those that have been left lying around to seize up!

This thread has descended from high mileage bikes to the longest ride you've ever done - but don't get me wrong, it's still a great convo, Phil.
Longest ride I have ever done on an SD?
Gotta be the North Welsh meet in 2014 on my silver CB250N reg EKO734T - she never missed a beat. Arse ached for weeks after that trip.
Second to that would be collection of a CB400N-B from Wigan back in 2008.
