Despite having too many bikes & not enough garage/shed space, we succumbed & bought another today. Still a Superdream, but something a bit lower & lighter for Gill. So here it is :- 1985 CB125TD Superdream The PO has painted it with rattle cans & straight over the rust on the frame, but if I can sort out a few more serious problems she'll be able to ride it around for the Classic TT when everyone but her is on some kind of 'classic'! Then I'll rebuild it over winter. The problems are:- 1 Steering alignment - the handle bars are about 20 degrees out! I'm hoping it's a problem with the forks or yokes & not the headstock! 2 There's a sort of 'hicup' at the back wheel as you let the clutch out. It feels like somethings moving as the power come back on. There doesn't seem to be any play in the wheel bearing or cush drive, so maybe the rear shock/linkage, chain & sprockets, or the clutch itself? 3 Front brake - probably the usual semi seized through lack of use (PO hasn't used it much, or at all since September) 4 No side stand - she's going to struggle putting it on the centre stand, which is just as poorly designed as it's big brothers! It also looks like someone sat on the tank! but that can wait till the winter rebuild, as can the round head light, pitted forks & rubbish cable/hose routing:- Any thoughts/advice on these problems gratefully received!

Good job you don't have anything else you need to do Ian With the forks initially I would just slightly slacken off the yoke pinch bolts then with the wheel against something solid try turning the bars to line up with the wheel again - hopefully just out of alignment/twisted in the yokes rather than bent . The chain /sprocket look good - is the chaiin a bit tight though ? , have had problems with a seized chain link giving odd symptoms - bent round the front sprocket and then not starightening out until back at the top run and starigtened out again under power ?......... Swinging arm bushes ok ? As for the front brake and stand - you're used to them ,Centre stand does look to rake forward a lot which would make it hard to get off the stand ? Funnily I was wondering if the twin pot would fit the bigger brothers as an upgrade , maybe not a good plan ......

Thanks, tas, I already enjoyed the 15 mile ride home, but my main hope is that SHE enjoys it! And thanks boj, that's what I'm hoping with the forks. At least the centre stand will be handy while I pull the rear end apart!
