right, im going having a look at this on saturday, yes the paints bad, yes the engine has been painted, yes its an IOM import, the paint i can put right, the engine paint i can strip the casings off the engine strip and polish, its obviously a 78 or 79 registered 80 because its kick start ( i like a kick start motor ) but its low ( ish ) miles and only 3 owners, all honda books and original bill of sale for IOM dealer... so, fair price if im happy with all that....? www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222041825938?euid=cfe81f9c030c41d584b8fad8f499386a&cp=1&exe=12792&ext=32582&sojTags=exe=exe,ext=ext in the event i bought it, what would be best to do with the engine paint ( main section )

Just my opinion , but I'd want to check the bike over very carefully as it doesn't look like a lot of care has gone into the bike - paint application on the engine , forks etc , bottom engine mount bolt missing/snapped . On the positive it does look to be low mileage and the paint looks lik e a quick aerosol job so most would probably come off with a good jetwash ?! Even modern Niromors should be able to cope . Worth swapping the front mudguard around to stop amusing passers by too Price seems quite high for the work needed but again just an opinion - would price either of mine £300 + ish cheaper with non standard tin paint but 2:2 exhausts ?

I think it could be a tidy bike with not much work initially. I would look to use some nitromorse to remove that ghastly paint on the engine. The head may prove difficult but if resprayed black it would blend in overall with the bike. Bottom part of engine just needs to be restored back to original. I have to agree with Bojer on the price though, i would only be offering £600 - £750 for it.

The blue 250 is a nice looking bike to a degree but at £2250 the price is simply ludicrous.
If it was wearing tank decals that even slightly mimicked the original shape and a genuine front mudguard then he may well be on course for an easy two grand though.

Why don't you seriously consider looking at something like this? Not a lot of money and sensibly priced. Some folk are asking twice this at the moment for even lesser examples. This is the type of thing you should be looking out for because (with utmost respect) it sounds like you don't want to spend a lot. Even if you want me to PM you when we find stuff like this, I will. www.gumtree.com/p/honda-motorbikes/honda-cb-250n-superdream-/1157527122

Ah right- so many bikes being discussed at once! Yes the blue one is nice- not £2250 nice but will be interesting to see how high it gets.
I have not seen that version of tank decal before wonder if it has been sprayed on and it's the paint guy's idea of what it should be?
