I used to have a similar collection of CMS dudes, but someone thought that as they were cheap freebies cluttering up my desk threw most of them out.
Apparently I over-reacted childishly to the news as well. Still miss them......

They`ve certainly had some brass out of me over the last couple of years or so.
But where else can supply most of the parts needed for a full blown restoration.

They are good Dave- I think personally they pip Silvers on availability of parts and the condition they are in when they arrive....

TBH I have been surprised how "new" some of the parts I've bought from DS lately look , seems strange getting bits for a 45 year old bike in pristine bags with fresh labels and barcodes etc - repackaged maybe ? These were bits for my CL, a bike not sold here and they turned up within the week so I was happy .

I agree Paul, with cms I`ve only had two parts on backorder from all the orders I`ve had, one was something for the 400 ,but without looking at my invoices I can`t recall what, and this week the horn I ordered is expected to be dispatched on the 7-3 16, and both times the rest of my order was sent straight away with no extra postage charges. I use silvers as well,and as boje says , some of the stuff recently has been good quality, but I think cms has the edge on quality of parts and stock availability. |
