The rider must have had seriously sore nuts (if he was a he and not a she).

He might have been a he and then he became a she after this!!! Quite possibly... I recall back around 1990 a workmate of mine that was a few years older than me called James Bryant loved RD's - had an LC that he crashed in Bagshot - straight up the back of a Renault 5...he was off work for a month after that. When he came back to work, one lunch hour we went to view the bike in an impound and the dents in the tank from his nuts were horrific - made my eyes water as a 16 year old seeing that.... To this day, even though we lost touch, I don't think he has had any offspring.

That looks like a XS250 I was riding in 1982 after l couldn't make the corner & ended up in the hedge, I went straight thorough the hedge but bike got caught up on something hard and front wheel wedged between exhaust pipes ! bike written off but I've since had 4 kids

I mean, do you reckon the frame and engine would have been okay? I think that one was a goner- just total up the bits you see bent apart from possible frame damage. I think to bend back and then deflect into that RH header the front frame down tube is going to be bent. And how much would a 6-7 year old 400 Dream be worth in 1985?.....
