It will probably be the float needle valve not seating properly, the rubber tips get hard and don`t seal and ideally you`d fit new ones, try polishing the seat with solvol autosol or some other metal polish on a cotton bud, it often helps them to seal. Is the float height set correctly? as that will cause flooding if its set wrong. I had the overflow pipe in the float bowl leaking on the seam on one of mine,it took some finding, I filled the float bowl with water, then blew up the overflow pipe while holding my thumb over the hole in the top of the pipe and saw the bubblescoming out of the split. . Here the link to download a pdf of the guide to cleaning the carbs I did last, it might help you. www.mediafire.com/download/4cl6x2t3s4d9a9c/Guide_for_Superdream_Carb_Strip.pdf

Morning. I've just obtained a CB250TE engine (5 speed so dream?) to rebuild... I enjoy tinkering. Goes without saying that I picked it up because 1, it's not siezed 2, I like Honda's 3, it's gonna be fun.
But when finished I'm probably going to use it in something, at the very least sell it as running so will need to test it.
What's the correct carb for this? Just want to make sure everything is matched when first turning over (if it's all stock it's a known working base)
Any help appreciated
Iain

I ran my 250t with standard 250n superdream carbs without any problems.

Just post six random things on a few threads and you will be able to......come on, any old crap will suffice. If you are feeling really brave, why not start your own thread? You’ll soon get through six that way.
