Hi all, My name is Jim, 38, and live in Redditch, Worcestershire. I don't have a SD yet but am now on the look out after deciding it was the bike for me. I rode a 600 Thundercat for many years but decided I wanted to keep my licence and sold it. I was then without a bike for a few more years before I moved house and bought a bike simply to commute on.... A CG 125. I now want to swap that for a bike that I can also enjoy a ride out on and a friend told me about SD's. Finding this forum was great so now I'm going to read up them and be ready to buy the right one for me when it comes up. Thanks and standby for a few questions!

I'm in Webheath Fungobat.
Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.
So, a 1980 400N has come up that I like the look of from the photos I have of it and intend to go and have a look. Are there any golden rules I should be sticking to before I part with my cash?
I have found the spec pages on here so intend to have a good read before I view it, armed with the knowledge of what a 1980 400N should be like!

Typically a 1980 will either be a late kickstart model or an NA model - this was the year they dropped the kickstarter. If no pics as yet, could you describe the colour scheme? Of course this assuming it has not been changed from original livery.
