This has to be a very low mileage, very early 400 kicker for you to want to lavish your hard earned on it.
Been stashed in a damp garage since its first MOT I would wager...........
Is anything salvageable on it or are you going to have to actually replace most things?

Most things I may actually have sitting around.....a mint very very decent bodywork set for starters.
Essentially a lot of it will be binned.......I'd like the engine and frame to work with. No rush with it at all. Is there any harm in having a future project?
This is a very early bike, July 1978. Frame solid - no rot. Despite all the negativity, I feel it may be worth some long term TLC.

You're a brave man lol.anyone buying something like that has to be a genuine enthuisiast.Mate of mine in 2008 bought a Velocette that had been left outside since 1963 it had a tree growing through it!!all tin ware rotted away but the engine/gearbox was like new inside and after spending £4k he now has a lovely MSS on the road.See it has a rack on it,did you buy it for the top box if one fitted?

Maybe I am letting the heart rule the head on this.......but at 200 small ones with free storage via a mate......f*ck it.
A 400 engine (even for spares) is getting on for being worth that. A no brainer methinks.
