Set up a new policy today with LV,fully comp ,legal cover, helmet and leathers , bike accessories etc all for £57 .bennets renewal quote was £ 240 plus interest as I do installments which made it £ 273 so they got the elbow and at the moment I'm in Luv with LV (till next year anyway)

It does Steve I was content with bennets as it was only £106 last year and had only rissen by £ 10 in the 3 years I've been with them ,but half way through last year they were taken over by another company if my quote was anything to go on I suspect they will get a lot of cancellations before they mend their ways

Bennetts renewal prices seem very high compared to the first years policy cost ....to get you hooked in I guess , I was a long term Norwich Union rider policy holder but that went away , tried E Bike for a while and now am mercenary and just use a comparison site for the cheapest renewal .

Once they have you they think you won't change - some people cannot be bothered to change - and that's where they try and sting you.

absolutely what Fungo said above, they do do this, I worked in bike insurance for a while 15 years ago, they were doing it then.
Having said that, I took out a new policy when I got my 400 SD, Bennetts were very good on price, so that's who I went with, lets see what it goes up to next year!!

ents which made it £ 273 so they got the elbow and at the mom very interested in what bike that was for and your age. do you like in a village / town / city? It rarely pays you to stay with the same insurer.only this year i could not be bothered with the ncb paperwork thing. you get 10 days to send it in...total bull..they could simply talk to your last insurer..they soon do when it comes to claim etc .. just a one way street con..

I always shop around each year & nearly always jump company's at renewal time to save a bit of wonga, as others have said some people cannot be bothered & insurance companies always come down a bit if you tell them you have had a cheaper quote, make you wonder if they could do it for the cheaper price why did they quote more in first place it's a rip off.

I have stayed with same company for last few years as I can't get cheaper,my problem is non standard parts on me Hardley just to insure 2 SD's and an XS650 was £85 but extra £225 with Hardley. But age/health/postcode/type of bike etc. all govern what you pay so hard to compare quotes

That's a fantastic deal Terry, I thought I was doing well at £87 with Peter James but I'll be giving LUV a call next year

What I like about Peter James is they know what you are talking about give you what you want at for me the best price, they don't charge admin fee when adding or changing anything on policy
