I need to get this out. Last Monday brakes failed on my car, AA were awesome, until they sent the sub contractor to life my jeep. He damaged air suspension removing my car from his lorry Tuesday tax man screwed up my tax and sent me a bill for £6500, spend 2 hours on the phone, touch wood it's sorted Thursday ATM ate my card Friday, couldn't tax SD to take to a classic show Friday, KLR, the bike I'm taking to IOM was running like a pig Saturday, slept in missed lift to Ulster Grand Prix This one rounds it all off. I want to get my other SD started and finish GT 500, so reduced the price of my finished SD. I got a call today from a guy phoning on behalf his father. He made me an offer, and I accepted, with the understanding there would be no more dealing when they arrived, they take the bike or leave it. They turned up and the son was a nice chap, but his Dad was one of the most ignorant T**T I've ever had the misfortune to set eye's on. He tried to drop the price by a further £50, and if he wasn't such an ass***e, I would have given it to him, however, it took every fibre of my body not to drop kick him over my 6 foot fence. I told him that I had already reduced the asking price for him via his son, and he just, I don't care, that's your asking price, I want another £50 of it". He said there's one on ebay for £600. I asked him why he hadn't bought it then( starting to get annoyed). His son said, well what are you doing dad, it's a great bike? He said as far as I'm concerned we're stuck over this £50. I told we're not stuck at all, because as long as my arse points south he will never own this bike, and that he should exit my garden by the quickest means possible before I give him a size 11 Nike suppository. I couldn't believe how grumpy and angry he was for someone coming to buy a bike off someone he never met before, absolutely personality at all, bas***d!!! Sorry guy's needed that!!

My Range Rover is looking really sad with front air bags deflated It's so frustrating when you lose a bank card, I don't know about you, but I use it all the time. I never seem to be able to keep cash in my pocket....

If it wasn't for bad luck TT you would have no luck at all as for the guy after your Superdream you should have given him the good old Norn Iron sales pitch "away and f**k yerself"

People like him just want the proverbial 10 grand bike for a 500 quid, and in there world they just expect a seller to relent and sell at what they offer... Perhaps you've noticed this fecker really pissed me off

Yor right TT so many assholes about, that's why when I'm changing my bike I just trade it in. People always say you get more for it selling it privately but the difference isn't worth the hassle of dealing with tyre kickers and test pilots. I did sense you seemed just a wee bit irritated

I will in future mate, but on this occasion I want the cash to pay for the van I got last night from my mate. He's in no rush for the money, so I'm not in any major panic to sell. I think the bike is reasonable at this money, unless I'm missing something!!!

I feel your pain tinytots. One of the first deals I ever did on fleabay was to sell a garden shed. It was about 6 months old and in close to perfect nick. I sold it to a guy for less than half what I had paid, and when he came around to collect it I made the mistake of letting him load it onto his van before he gave me the cash. Then he tried SEVERAL times to knock me for a tenner!!.
In the end I snapped and walked down to my garage to fetch a jerry can. I told him that rather than let him have the shed at HIS price he could watch while I pulled it off his van and set fire to it.
He gave me the money and left ..... mumbling that I was a nutter.
Tinytots, sometimes in life you just meet w*nkers.
Tomorrow you will still be you.
He will still be.............................

I'm 46 and have bought and sold well over a hundred bikes since I was 15, what I can't understand is, I'm selling, what I think is an excellent SD, I understand that it's not completely standard, but it's 1400 quid! I have spent more than that on non running bikes!!!!!

My gut is that you may be trying too hard to sell your 400, TT.
Coupled with the fact that it's holiday season and there ain't an awful lot of reddies to spare because of it.
Have you tried the bike on car and classic? It's a more low key affair and it's also free.

Have you tried the bike on car and classic? It's a more low key affair and it's also free. Yes mate, It may have been who mentioned this before to me and I put it straight on. One of the problems I have, is I starting advertising it for what I think my SD's should be making in these days, with concurs SD's hitting the 3 grand mark, however it's advertised in so my places that the price varies from £2100 to £1450 today. I have no doubts in my mind what so ever that SD's are going to speed up the price chart in a big way, and very soon. I class them as rarer than 400/4 and every bit as good a bike, even better looking. Every place that advertise an 400 SD for sale, there's 5 400/4's next to it. Now for the soap box bit, As guardians of these bikes we should be influencing the prices of these bikes to ensure that they get a fair price for every person who puts there soul into preserving them. I think they are going to get very rare, because there a prime candidate for cafe racer conversion and bobber engines, making originals endangered... 29dz8zk

I think your right TT prices are already going up and yours is well worth the £1400 your asking. Our problem too is we have a limited market in Northern Ireland and boys across the water would have to factor in transporting the bike which may put them off. Good luck with the sale and I hope the van was worth it

I had this from a bloke from wales did the same thing.. they agreed a price on the phone and turned up and poked thire head round the door, then turned there noses up.. Think they would have rand a few place aswell as mine and made silly offers..just trying it on.. When they haggle me on the phone I tend to just hang these days.Time wasters

My Range Rover was sitting fine on the mantelpiece the last time I saw it, someone keeps pushing it to one side and putting a candlestick where I like to park it.
