A CB400A in the garage,it's an American Hawk not a Dream.It's in very nice condition having lived in the States for first 31 years and only 7,100 miles from new.Main reason I wanted one is being semi auto no gear changing and with the engine bars fitted can rest me gammy leg on a highway bar off a Hardley,will have go at posting a picture asap.Still hope to be able to ride one of my Superdreams but will be selling one soon to make some room in garage

It's great fun,realy enjoy riding my Piaggio Hexagon 250 (Honda engined ) but ut's not a "real" bike lol.

Has the honda got engine braking with the auto system ?
Ive got a 390 husky auto, its like a big moped,when you close the throttle it frewheels,

No noticeable engine braking but you can bang it down into first and may get a bit there,got used to the Hexagon so easy transition to the Hawk.Guy I bought it from told me thete are several auto bikes currently available.The Hawk is not very fast,reckon bit slower than a 250 SD and bit more vibration at higher speeds and curiously Handa chose to stick only one disc on front an upgrade to double disc may be an option shouldn't have sold the 400 I had in pieces  |

That's the one,got it and all the spares for £1,800 I'm well pleased.Nice clean bike no rust and original as far as I can see.I've done 52 miles on it twice as much as previous owner did since last Septembers MOT,nice guy few years older than me been lifetime motorcyclist owning over 85 bikes in that time.Just need to stick my "new" carrier and topbox on it and I'll be ready to do some miles on it,see if I can get to the Welsh meet in September on it  |

Nice buy it will draw attention wherever you go! Just one thing that puzzled me from the photos- are the pillion footrests at the right angle- they seem to be slanted back a lot?

Footrests are at an angle,but looking at pictures of the Hawk/Dream is how they should be.Was attracted to the novelty/rarity of it but my left leg being way it is ie gear changeing difficult if not impossible at mo had a bearing on decision to buy plus it's in such nice condition for a 38 year old bike

Thanks,I like to have something nice to ride to shows/meets etc.will give it a realy good polish and stick the new silencers on it,not much else needs doing to it but the front brake is crap lever comes back to h/bar previous owner "reconditioned" the caliper may just need bleeding properly braided hoses might be good idea
