Had a tidy up at my lock up today (aka a battered 20ft shipping container) and came across these......the front NOS, the rear suspected as being NOS. I wonder how a Superdream would handle if these were fitted now? I suspect they could even crack upon trying to fit even though they appear to still be as new:

Post up a photo of the cast in panel of numbers after "DOT". It chopped and changed over the years as to meaning, but below the Yokohama's off that black 250NA- tyre manufactured in the 17th week of 1980....

Both made in the Bridgestone Nasu Tyre Plant, Kuriso, JAPAN. Top one Week 44, 1980. Bottom one Week 7, 1979.
Before 2000 the single year number obviously repeated every 10 years, but those years fit the known history of the tyres?.....

I researched it all when deciding whether both the TC and the black NA were original miles and kosher. The tyre dates proved both were.....

Next you guys will be sending the air in the tyres away for analysis to see if it contains carbon molecules from Mt. Fuji!!!!!

And on tyre dates...... Had my motorhome MOT'd the other week. Tester picked up on the fact that all the tyres were 10 years old and he dropped an advisory on the sheet to that effect. Nowt wrong with the treads or condition, but he was adamant that they should be changed.

None at all - but apparently it isn't what you can see that is the danger. The compounds break down over time to the point that a blow-out becomes more likely. I had a blow-out whilst driving a coach once.........the resultant mess of the bodywork wasn't pretty. Don't fancy that happing to our m/home.
The bill for 5 new tyres is going to make the eyes water though..........something north of £550!!!!!
