I'll be glad when I get my engine back in, so as to see what the bsa11 ones fit like, they don't look bad silencers ,,and as Nick says no stampings on them, one less place for the rust to get a hold.

Hi All. I think there must be two diferent types of after market exhausts for the SD. It seem that the Brituro ones fit correctly. The ones that I bought from BSA111 do not have any wording on them, so I assume that they are not Brituro. I wonder if Brituro silencers are still made for the SD. I notice that David silver list aftermarket silencers for the SD and they are nearly £80 each, it doesn't say on the David Silver web site what make they are. Could be worth asking.

That's not good Dave, they haven done a very good job of measuring up if that's the case.

Just had a quick look and the bracket isn't too far forward it is about 40mm too far behind where it should be to let the stand rest on it,can't confirm they came from David Silvers previous owner said they came from there

This thread is good but all very confusing at the minute as to the problems with the specific versions (manufacturer/supplier), if indeed any.
I have (hopefully) found a supplier of Hi-Level ones and will upload feedback on those ones as and when I fit them.
Maybe we need a pattern silencer guide - but it will need to be accurate of course.

Seems I've opened a can of worms with this one. I hope we can find an answer.

That is what a great forum is all about - good knowledge that an enthusiast can trust.
I think my concern on it is putting out ambiguous info that could potentially harm someone's business - if it is justified then fair enough - it will give them the chance to rectify any issues.
These silencers are not exactly cheap and they should be right.

My na had a pair of Campbell silencers on in when I got it, does anyone know anything about campbells? They we're a pretty decent looking silencer. I seem to vaguely remember the name from way back.

I can't really comment on any of them Nick, as I haven't fitted any yet, that's why I asked the better informed folk on here:)

Campbell were very popular back in the day, weren't they?
I looked at a CB900F with Campells on - they looked good but from memory not an identical copy.
