I've heard a rumour they are stopping production of Land Rover Defenders shortly.
Therefore, as I spotted this transporter heading south out of Gaydon on the M40 on Friday night, I ask myself.....is it the last one?
Perhaps the last defence...

Excellent photo, I really like the look of the Defender, some guys over here builds a stainless steel under chassis and doors wings etc to refurbish them with, Aluminium wings is also another cheaper option. In practice a van is much more useful to me, but I hope to own a Defender some day, even it is just as a trophy.

Actually, I don't like the look of the final Defender, not a patch on the old one.

Will be a sad day when the last true Defender/Land Rover rolls off the production line.
That photo above is just a new 4x4 - there is NO lineage back through the Defender line and the Series Land Rovers to the original in 1948.
Land Rover : The Best 4x4 by Far.
Had a V8 Series III many moons ago........absolutley bomb proof and a bloody hoot to drive.
Thirsty though............15mpg at best..........

I bet that was a right beastie! I would love a nice Series one day... I think we have seen the bottom of the market for good Series Landies Chris.....prices for good examples are creeping up now. I swapped a 2.0GL Capri for my V8, which I then swapped a couple of years later for a SIII SWB County (mainly because of the ruinous fuel economy!!!). In the summer I removed the hard-top, doors and tailgate and dropped the windscreen on the V8 and it stayed like that for months - rain or shine. Couldnt wipe the smile off my chops!!!! Would love to have another.........

Mark that one you posted up looks nice and modern but surely not the defender we know and love?
My hairdresser, Justin says he is after a new Land Rover......I wonder if it's the new Defender?
He currently has a Mazda RX-8.

Different Justin.
Surely you can cope with the fact that in 2015 more than one Justin exists?

I love the look of that new model, just a touch out of my price range however.

Greybeard, you are not suggesting that Justin wears an earring on the other ear, or anything like that? Maybe Nick is reminding us folically challenged older guys that he has a good head of hair himself ! By the way my dentist is Jewish, maticilous about his work he is !
