My gut is that the CB400NC guard has the 471 stamped on them (uses same moulding) but officially (on paper) it's a 443 part....
CB250RS came out in 1980.............learner laws changed in 1982............clever old Honda to use up the parts on the 400NC.

I asked this because it has the caliper brackety thing and cable guard on both sides, and i would say factory done not home-made.

Wasn't the CB250RS budget all the way through- single disk, wire wheels, kickstart only?....

Looks to me like it came off a tractor - but then, I am looking at it on my phone..... It looks like somebody has bolted the bridge piece from an earlier SD to get it to fit. My 400NA came with one of these mudguards fitted, with a couple of small adapter plates to lift it about an inch to get it to fit - don't know if you can make them out in this pic..... When I fitted it on my 250NB, it bolted straight on without the adapter plates - the mounting lugs must be a bit higher on the later forks? It was supposed to be temporary, but I quite like it - must've been the yellow paint I didn't like, not the plastic mudguard!
