Great - thanks Carl...
Just had a further flashback - Mansell's bike (RMM) had red bodywork.
Remind where the dickens the blue set came from to match the Inavder? was it Boycie?

Not Boycie - it came off a chap on the bay of fleas that was in to selling SD bits for a while. Quite an honest chap - wouldnt sell crap for gilded money. Trousered the full kit for around a hundred bills if I remember.
And yes, originally RMM was red - and will be again when I can get around to finding a half decent tank to have sprayed up......and you drop lucky with the repro decals!!!!!!
Then the blue set will be up for grabs.........

Now if anyone's got a NOS red invader knocking about? You know where I am! While you're about it if you can chuck in a NOS rear rack and Rickman top box I'd be ever so grateful.

Nick's got two Invaders - I am sure that he would donate one to the cause.
Doubt you would ever find a NOS one......but could have one sprayed up to look new?

NOS Invader?
Has anyone ever seen such a thing? I mean within the last 31 years or so.

That silver deluxe had potential......but my gut at the time was that you just didn't gel with it like you did your kicker....so you sold it to Boycie for around £400......and I asked him if he would flog it to me around a few months after that after he announced he was selling all his Super Dreams for a faster and riskier lifestyle but he quoted me around double that to relieve it from him.......a true entrepreneur our Boycie. But the exact facts may be blurred with all the water under the bridge.........so take them with a pinch of salt. At the end of the day, you should have not sold that blue kicker. Why did you do that, Boje?

At the end of the day, you should have not sold that blue kicker. Why did you do that, Boje? Glad you asked that FB............. If only I knew I'd be much better informed. Yep , I got the impression that he was after quite strong money for the silver one - didn't get as far as an exact amount but could see the writing on the wall , as it were ..Think I bought and sold it for about £600 , the blue one was £450 ish IIRC . You're right in that I did prefer the earlier one's higher seat and some bit were of a better initial quality - might have been chain adjusters - chrome on the early one and just zinc on the later one etc ?? If I get the DT a SD would make a good stable mate for it ... I'm hopeful of getting something but no mad rush

Will keep the thread updated as to DT "progress" but seems hopeful , matching numbers bike that I owned in the past Am considering going slightly left field with a CB350SG , anyone "done" one on here yet ? - accept they are not as "classic" as a SD but strangely (or not!) I liked the look when they came out .... will see what occurs , er , I mean I will plan carefully and fully consider what I am doing ....

Mmm, having agreed a price with the owner on the DT it's now been sold for more to someone else So can continue to "focus" on a SD .... or maybe a 350 SG but then I do like the CL350 but forty years ago those engines had camchain/camshaft issues , am sure planning and forethought will win the day , ooh look , shiny "parp parp" (my similarity to Mr Toad is frightening)
