they are easy once you get the knack. When I started out riding Brit bikes early last year I couldn't even get a 350 started. I still occasionally get a bit of bother starting my G80 but its more due to my short legs and not being able to get the kickstart right down. I need to be on level ground.

Anyone reading my recent posts will know than my favourite modern bikes are the Honda CB400 Superfour, The CB1000 Superfour and perhaps the CB750F2_1996_ish (these were all mid 1990s but I would still call them modern. Of the Generation before that the Superdreams of course. The generations before that have a load of beauties, BSAs, Triumphs, Nortans and Enfields, too many to mention. Of the bikes built in the last few years, the Latest Royal Enfields, the Bonnie, the Kawi W650, maybe the Yami SR400 and the Suzi Tux 250, and the new Honda CB1100 airhead. I may have missed a few but 95% of modern bikes I just wouldn't p155 against because of their sheer ugliness. Of all the above I have only owned the SDs and currently have a 400NA and a 250N

Well said Mark, most people hate HD's and the folk that ride 'em.I know the reasons for this but I don't belong to any club apart from VMCC :DBut most haters have never ridden one and lot of bollox spouted about them, agreed on the poor quality of parts like footrests etc. but HD know most owners junk the standard bits for expensive accessories,I stick different wheels/tank/fenders/seat on mine to make it a "new" look often.Would like another Superglide sport to go faster on

The best looking bike I have had was a Ducati 1198S in my opinion the best looking bike ever made. I know a lot of members don't like plastic rockets etc, but this bike drew a crowd like no other I have owned. It was a great bike for riding quick but anything else was a bit of a nightmare and the other half wasn't too keen on the pillion provision The most commonly asked question was "Is it meant to sound like that" due to the dry clutch rattling at tickover but when you revved it, what a sound. The picture below is not mine but it was exactly the same, ironically I consider it the best looking bike I have owned but couldn't find a decent photo of it

Surely a Norton Commando has to be up there with the best of them as well?

I first saw a Ducati Evoluzione at the classic show at stafford a few years ago, at first i thought what the hell is that then after walking around it for a while i came to think it was a thing of beauty and a work of art.

Litsey - nice looking Bandit I've got an '05 Bandit 650 as my "daily". However, this -to me - is the best bike in the world ever! upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/86/Kawasaki_W650_1999_2000.jpgI had this exact same colour bike, from new, on Good Friday 2005. In July 2005, whilst bumbiling down to me mam n dad's (as one does when one wants an excuse for a ride/show-off), someone who was apparently blind pulled out in front of me, meaning W650 gone Destroyed my right knee, and put me off bikes for good - till I had a few too many sherbets ont' t'eBay about 4 yarns ago, the rest is history...

Just to add - the result of that one too many sherbets as afore mentioned, was me buying a tiny-mileage SD
