just a thought, would be great if sometime in the future,if someone when fitting a exhaust system together, could do a step by step with photos, what you think?

I think that would be good Steve I think we need to start filling up the technical advice section, as I think these type of threads are very beneficial. We have the people on here who have a vast amount of knowledge with regards to Superdreams, personally this is my first restoration project and these type of threads would prove invaluable to me.

I did it with my CB400N a few months ago and I do have pics.
If we have no other volunteers I can do it guys if we all agree.
I'm sorry - I have not had much time of late. I want to also get on and revamp the history and also have a general bodywork guide.
Whilst away I have also been doing some serious research into decals.

I just mean as a point of reference Terry - not how to spray etc - I would leave that to someone else. You remember the side panel gallery? We can bring that back along with a tank gallery and seat tailpiece gallery. Would help restorers 'get them right'.

As a relative novice on these bikes I would really use the bike and model history and pics of the different livery? I'm scrabbling to keep up when you lot immediately clock what year/model/colour/country a bike is from a glimpse of the tail light screws......

That's good feedback thanks Crouchy. I will aim to get as much 'for reference' stuff on the site as possible. I'm the cosmetic sd anorak in these parts it would seem.... Note: On another SD site somewhere in the outer hebridies some poor fella has just joined and asked for advice about his brake lever. It's gutting to see it.....such poor advice being given to him. Makes me sad. We would have tidied that up within a minute. Did the runner of the site learn nothing in the two and a half years we were there?

As a relative novice on these bikes I would really use the bike and model history and pics of the different livery? I'm scrabbling to keep up when you lot immediately clock what year/model/colour/country a bike is from a glimpse of the tail light screws...... I'm new to the restoration game Crouchy and although I have owned an SD for about 23 years I've never ridden it and it spent 20 years rusting in my shed ( see Avatar ) I bought another one a couple of years ago with the intention of using it as spares for the chopped one but then decided no I'll tidy it up a bit and use it. I have learned a lot about Superdreams from the guys on here and now find myself looking at Gumtree / Ebay etc. shaking my head and tutting when it says things like carefully restored and then I spot something wrong with it Unfortunately what guys like FB and a few others on the site have is quite contagious as I have discovered. I have only really started my restoration project and am currently working on the forks and front brake, as I said my intention was just to tidy it up BUT I took the caliper off got it stripped and painted including the little speedo cable bracket then I discovered the bracket would have originally been plated. Now if I had of stayed with my original plan I would have said " That looks OK" but then I thought about putting pictures of my shiny caliper on here and thought I can't leave it like that so ordered a new bracket from Silvers I even ordered an original Honda Screw to hold on the inspection cover together with new seals, piston, bleed nipple and cap all Honda. I now realise I have got the fungo bug and am realising this bike is going to cost me a f**king fortune. The guys on here have inspired me and made me aspire to do the restoration as best as I can ( within financial reason ) and to be honest I have enjoyed getting stuck in and seeing things look good again. Saying that it has had an adverse effect in other parts of my life, at the weekend I volunteered to clean the cooker top as I had made a bit of a mess of it, something I don't do too often I assure you. I actually found myself stripping the thing, getting the VIM ( remember that ) and scotchbrite sponges out and taking great pride showing her how shiny it was. ( The cooker ) I'm telling you this cleaning metal things is addictive there should be a health warning on here. But on a serious note a big thanks to all the guys on here who provide help, advice, support and inspiration to us less experienced Superdreamers.
