this is the first quote we had, i contacted him to see if he would remove the vat. Steve We cannot lose the VAT, no. We play with a very straight bat where accounting is concerned, I like to sleep peacefully at night Colouring: Each coloured element of an enamel badge has to have a metal border. So the best way to do this would be to use chrome to edge the red/white/blue and black of the bike, but the text needs to be metal. All enamel badges are done this way. Chrome shows up against white very well but the inner text can't be done in the style shown (with an outline) it just needs to be solid metal. It would show up better if it was put on a solid background so that there was a narrow inner circle (running from roughly 10 o clock to 2 o clock) to enclose this text. The only way you could do this design EXACTLY as per the colours shown would be as a printred badge, rather than enamel. As there are four colours though it would be expensive to do in small numbers. Cost for this would be £154 + vat and to be honest, it won't feel the same in terms of quality. Let me know what you think. cheers Andy your thoughts on this one as well.

I'd say go with the first quote for 100.
It also sounds like he cares about the finished product.

Just a thought here, bright colours like the red and white will stand out very well in enamel, especially the white. Dark colours do not look as good in enamel, brown and black or dark green tends to look very dull in enamel. There might be a logic in slightly simplifying and modifying the copy of the logo been sent to the Enameling company, Maybe less detail so as to achieve a greater contrast and to make the badge more easily read by people with failing eyesight.
Either Chrome or Brass can look well on the outer circle.

People with failing eyesight shouldn't be riding surely?
(Rhetorical question btw)

People with failing eyesight shouldn't be riding surely? (Rhetorical question btw) Some of us use sound, smell, homing, vibration and other instinctive senses developed as an alternative !

right lads, just had a email off andy about the badges, Steve Artwork attached. Grey represents chrome metal, other colours are the actual enamel. We've had to encase the text on the inner area, it wouldn't ahve shown up otherwise against the union jack background. Let me know what you think. Regards what do we all think?
