White Lightning was also the name of Ken Boon's steed......EVK 284C Was that the guy that crashed a speedboat at high speed and was drowned trying to set a new speed record in the early 1970's on a long narrow lake, and they only found his body in more recent years, and in the process of searching for his body the found the body of a woman who had been murdered, or something like that

That was Donald Campbell your thinking of he died in 1967 and as you said his body only recently found, his last words were "Hallo, the bow is up....I'm going....I'm on my back....I've gone...oh." Very brave man indeed

Very brave man indeed Thanks that's the very man, tragic accident, I think his father died earlier in a similar accident, I had been trying to look him up on Wiki but I didn't have enough to go on until you mentioned his name, I just read up on him now, quite an amazing guy. Apparently he had requested to be left buried in water if he ever was drowned, there was a family dispute over the recovery of his body.

For your info Ken Boon was his name in a show called Boon. It ran from 1986-1992....the lead role played by an actor known as Michael Elphick. Of the five people I would actually have loved to have met before I died, one would have been him. He never actually rode a motorcycle apparently (for real) but a tenner says this guy had a story or two to tell....he had his demons... In my book, a great genuine actor that re-ignited my interest in motorbikes at a time when I was very influential.

Looks like a BSA he is on, I have had years when I never got the time to ride bikes at all, but my SD's were still very important to me for several reasons, I would have went without boots before I would have sold them! Only in recent years have I got back out on the road again. Maybe Ken liked bikes but for whatever reason he didn't ride them.
