The mirrors look slightly pear shaped to me though, maybe a trick of the camera lens though?

It took some searching as the buildings in Fungo's original pic (with Snows restaurant) have long been demolished and re-built. This is the same scene today - Picadilly Circus. CT

LLU 957 A Leyland Titan RTW (not a Routemaster) first registered November 1st 1950. Unusual in that it is 8' wide - one of the widest passenger vehicles on British roads at the time. Now in preservation.
Only ran through Picadilly on a Saturday as this wasnt its normal route.
So Fungo's picture must have been taken on a Saturday and most probably in 1978 or 1979, as Snows (a Schooner Inn) was sold in 1980 to Grand Metropolitain.
