This had a crap rear suspension system on it as well - wore out real quick.....I'm pretty sure they called in 'Unitrak' or something.

My test just consisted of riding around the block a couple of times, the examiner stepping into the road with his hand up (emergency stop) and answering a few questions on the highway code.
No cones, no school, no instructor (other than my old man for a few evenings when I first got my bike), no part 1 or 2......
Passed first time - on a Honda CB100N.....then promptly went out and bought a BRAND NEW, straight out of the box CB250NB SUPERDREAM!!!!!!!

I passed my test 19yrs ago almost to the day!
I did my CBT in the early summer then had about 5 rideouts with the teacher then did my test around Wallington in Surrey.
I thought I had failed when he asked me about under-inflated tyres and I hesitated for a couple of seconds!
One of the guys who took the test with me was so nervous he was physically shaking before the test and then could not get of the line because every time he put the bike in gear it cut out due to the sidestand being down, D'oh. He did pass though!
I went out and brought a VT500 almost straight away with a student loan, I was a mature student at the time, and two years later progressed to the VFR.
The best piece of advise I always give is to pass cars when they are stationary, ie. at lights, roundabouts and traffic jams but always be wary of people opening doors!
