i think you will still have to display it mate, its before october the 1st, i know its confusing, found this comment.
When will the tax disc disappear? The tax disc is set to be abolished on 1 October 2014 – so it’s staying with us until well into next year.
In the meantime you will still need to display the disc on your windscreen, or you will still risk being fined.

Comment I read (think it was on the DVLA site) said that after the 1st of October you could choose to display or not it was up to you if your tax starts on the 1st of October you wont get a disc anyway' Harold if I was you I would check on there first as Northern Ireland may be different

Terry it says this on the link Steve put up, although it says "it can" not it should so your probably right Terry you can probably leave it on there if you like.
From 1 October 2014, the paper tax disc will no longer need to be displayed on a vehicle windscreen. If you have a tax disc with any months left to run after this date, then it can be removed from the vehicle windscreen and destroyed. Customers with a Northern Ireland address will still need to display their MoT disc.

All the taxes we pay you would think that they could find someone what cud rite stuf cleerli that can bee eesy understand an so yo no wot its what the r on a boat. On first reading the article at the lead of this posting seems to be saying that we would be committing an offence by continuing to display a tax disc, and had to destroy it and register online, bit annoying since i just spent £126.50 + charge for purchasing with my Barclaycard to tax my car for 6 months. So I am guessing that now I hang fire until the end of feb next year when my reminder arrives and I then register online.....? Yea?
