The main thing is as long as you are happy with them Ian, nothing else matters.

To follow up - yes they do look good. You know I love originality and.. I could spend a few minutes pointing out the differences to an original set.... But why worry? They will look good on the bike, trust me. When will you fit them? Be careful not to apply the tank ones 'on the slant'.......this will stick out like a sore thumb.

I did my 400NA before there was an SD forum, and not knowing any better, stuck them on 'dry' which was well scary. Having said that, I managed to get them on ok. There were no decals on it when I got it, so I googled a couple of pictures, did it by eye & got them a bit high. The 250NB still had the originals on, so I was able to take measurements. I attached the panels to the frame to help line everything up, used plenty of soapy water in a squirty bottle & it was easy to avoid bubbles and slide them into position. I also much prefer the 'traditional' decals to the NA version.

Gazw - Very minor things......but to me they stick out like a sore thumb because I've been around these bikes and studied them with a passion for so long.
It is the general lack of sharpness to the tank decals and shortness of them - the originals are so sharp you could cut your finger on them - no curves.
Also and again, very minor, but study the 4 in your '400'.........There is a crossover in the 4 in yours - on the genuine one, there isn't. The 'N' in 400N is too fat on the sides as well.
So you see - a genuine set has not been copied by imageworks in this case....why? I am unsure.

It always baffles me as to why the people that reproduce these parts go through a lot of expense and time but yet still fail to produce an exact replica of the original
I've been around old fords forever and I've seen this time and again

Strange isn't it?
Your decals are fine for most folk plus from memory, the set I uploaded from Italy you thought were too expensive at £80.
It could be a cost thing.....I'm not sure people really want to pay for them......certainly not for the research required. There are more variations between exact models / colours than many people can appreciate, I think.
Some will put up with the lack of closeness out of cost.

same decals as what I have on mine. As Fungo said make sure you get the tank decals on straight. The painter who did mine got em wrong and it annoys me. They aren't lacquered over so I suppose I could just peel em off and stick new ones on but I've never bothered...

Now that you can compare those pics , you can clearly see that they are quite different
I see now what you mean about them being too short and not a pointy as the originals
I have a tank here with an original decal on it so at least i have something to copy when i apply them

Scott's look fine.....not for a purist like me but most people would not know the difference. As long as they are straight I think the bike will look fantastic - really dapper...
