I remember when I was serving my time, (which wasn't yesterday) the boys used to use an engine laquer for the cars which wasn't a paint they would have washed down the engines and then sprayed this on all over the engine. Don't know what it was though but they called it engine laquer.

My engine is silver grahamb and I'm on with polishing the casings and rocker cover now. Fook me!!! That's shiney...... Surely you didnt do that just by hand? ?

No greybeard, I had it aqua blasted as an experiment to see if it would remove all the old lacquer then polished most of it on my polishing wheel and did between the fins by hand.
