I was wondering how many members bought a Silvers pattern front mudguard. Due in end Oct.
I bought two because I need two and my friend Gordon bought one,
They are now temporarily out of stock,
It would be good to see them before more are available to see if its worth buying more as I do fancy a CX sometime.

Was told of another site the honda cg125 fits the superdream and are around £35 I am not saying they are a one off one on.but like duffers mudguard mod if you're not building that show bike they are a lot better than the alternatives

Steve's mudguards look great and are 100% better than the flat side ones. And if the CG ones fit then super... I have a CG with a plastic front mudguard, I will see if I can offer the SD one up to it because if one fits one bike then it should fit the other. David Silvers ones arrived today. Gee. |

Christmas has come early Gee! So are you saying that the square edged mudguard you sold me is a bodger?  Actually I quite like it, but I know it's not kosher! Better than the rusted through one that was on there. Maybe I'll get around to getting a more original looking one at some point...and the same time I'll get some flared jeans of the same period.  |

As I have moved on with the CX500 restoration, I have test fitted the newly repaired and chromed up mudguard. Again, not original. A bit short. But perhaps the mud flap disguises it just enough. As already said, I have not yet ruled out a Silver's one though.

They are very good bikes duffer I know you have the negatives around same as the superdream but in the twenty years riding one probably had two negative comments. Most of people that ride bikes today have never read a 80s MCM.that mudguard is very presentable and it's all about what you want in the end.i do not know what silvers what's for a mudguard but I bet there's not much change out of £200.me I prefer riding them than looking at them and a well presented bike that's showing its had a life puts a smile on my face. One of the negative comments was from an a acquaintance I see at a local MCC he asked me why I come on that piece of s**t I said its over 40 years old I have had it for 12 the guy I got it off he had it for 10 it still going strong and where's the Harley paul I see you have come in the car again. I got the back of his head

I see Silvers have the repro mudguard in again. Is it a direct and accurate replacement for the original.
I was going to make one from a new steel mudguard and the original bridge then get it chromed but it isn't exactly right. While it would hurt to spend the best part of £200 on a silvers one I would if it was the right thing without compromises and holes in the wrong place etc.
Anybody got one to compare it to the original or have an opinion?

I'm sure someone with better knowledge than me will be along, but as you can see from Gee photos, it's a good fit. When they first came available, members in the know said that the raised ridge down the centre makes it a bit more CX than SD.

I called silvers today and they said it was an exact copy, so I ordered one.
Still need the hose brackets either side of the mudguard, found one fairly poor one for sale on Ebay but no sign of the other.
The poor dream has been sitting in the workshop about 70% finished for over a year now, it's about time I finished it off
