so it works better on 112's? standard jets on the 1979 cm400t? probably be better still with the #70 and the right needles

It pulls a lot better over 5k buster but the 112 jets when they come I hope. will be more beneficial. The pilot side I will leve as is when I change the main jets and the results are what I hope I will lift the needles up if that works well will try larger pilot jets.best to go one step at a time.it would be nice if you could adjust the timing just to explore when winter is here might make some ofset keys

Guys - all of you - thank you for your opinions and discussion points. I posed the original question not because the bike was running poorly, but because as I had just acquired it I was giving it a good going over and wanted to see if there was a consensus around upping the jets while in there for E10 reasons. I have done so and the bike is running great. I think I detect smoother tick over and it certainly has power on throttle up, but I really need to take it for a good long run and see how the plugs look. Such a lovely machine to ride!

Well I had a great 130 mile ride yesterday and she’s running well. Checked the plugs and they’re a nice tan colour. I accept I probably did not need to change the jets but I’ve not done any apparent harm. Ps. Not sure how to add a photo from my phone but I had wanted to show the plugs!

You are absolutely write you do not need to change the jets running around for bits and bobs as I do on the superdream there is no difference. But on a evening its a bike night most nights around me and they are all out in the sticks and at 60mph roads the superdream is a enjoyable bike to ride but the sweat spot of the 400 engine is at 6 to 8000 and jetting up the carbs as improved the running and even more now the air is colder. I have gone back to 115 main I might even try 118 I have two it's a 30 min job just to see and the bike runs on e10.as I said it is not necessary but mine is staying with bigger jets
