Just a quick warning.
This has now happened twice, once it affected a fellow member (Mansell) and now my dear old dad has become a victim too..
I've had a personal hotmail email address since around 1998. The thing is that I've realised, although I have a few email addresses, this one being my oldest is NOT linked to my paypal........but someone else's paypal account for some bizarre reason.
I find it strange to be honest that someone has an email address linked to their paypal account which is not actually genuinely attached to them.
Anyway........please just make sure that anyone paying you does not assume that just because you have an email address it is NOT necessary your payment / paypal email address.
I understand that Mansell was never paid back these funds (unless he can confirm) and after six days my dad has not seen his money rejected back either. Luckily, in my dad's case, it was only a fiver but still......
Thanks and I hope it helps some of you.

I recently had a chap say he wouldn't accept Paypal because of the scams. That was a new one on me. With that and your info Nick, I've seen Paypal in a different light. I'd always assumed it was water tight. Bit naïve I guess.

You're right FB, never saw a penny, chalked it up to experience. Won't get bitten twice! . BTW my BT phone line had gone down therefore so has my broadband, it's gonna take til next Wed to sort so I'm reduced to the miserable experience of using my phone on 3G. Soooo slow. I'm gonna put up a thread soon as my Son Jack wants a field bike so if anyone's got a "project" knocking about in their garage that they'd like to see the back of, pls let be know. Upto 125/175 cc scrambler/ trials type as opposed to road bike ideally. He's got circa £500 to play with and I might dig deep if it's the right bike. I'll put up a thread when I have more patience / time
