Anyone shed any light on why I have lost the ignition lights on the bike?
I had the lights on on the clocks , but since disconnecting all the multi plugs down by the regulator rectifier and plugging them all back together Ive lost the ignition lights and all power up to the clocks

Smells like a dodgy connection to me, if not in the plug itself one of the wires could've broken up internally as they become brittle with age.
Could also be worthwhile checking all the fuses first - it's much easier changing a fuse than chasing down leccy problems...

Where are there more fuses ? other than the three near the regulator?

Have you checked the fuses with a continuity jobby wotsit?
If glass, they may look okay but could have a minute break in them.......you may have blown one without it being obvious.
If not that, then yes, you have a dodgy connection somewhere. Spray some electrical contact cleaner in that multiplug that you disturbed.

Red plug is the ignition light and main feed.

There is one on that set that usually corrodes.
It will look green (copper corrosion).

hi dude......as above........do you have a wiring diagram??
the top fuse ( more than 7 amp, cant remember the rating for this one but its the main fuse 15amp ish ?? ) is the main fuse..........did you disconnect any wires by the battery area, the green/red one ( neutral gear, earth to light bulb ) and the blue/red one ( oil light, earth to light light )..........?
get a mulimeter even a cheapo one......will save you £££££££ in the long run.......remember that the red wires are live feed to the ign sw and black is live feed after the ign sw.........check the main fuse.........

Thanks for the replys
It was a dodgy connection behind the top fuse
All sorted now but still can't get a spark ( my next problem...lol )
There will be another thread started on the "can't get a spark" soon

don't worry there will be lots more.........I assume all ign system connections are good, clean and tight.....
have you painted the frame?? and have you heard this engine running??
anyways try disconnecting the cdi black/white wire first......earth this cdi wire to kill ign.......remember that THE Cam cover is insulated ......make a ht test rig with 2 old plugs welded to strip of metal with a "flying" ht lead to engine via crock clip.....if ht is produced in the ht coil and does not get to earth, it will bugger the ht coil.......else red neon plug caps are a great ( and relatively cheap ) ht "visual aid"..........for testing purposes........ mind you if you can borrow a kid..........or dare using your tongue........
res check coil.....lt 1 ohms ish whilst ht is 20k tween plug cap to plug cap........the ht leads are soldered in so if they are limp and floppy by the coil, reinforce the "cover" with tape then heat shrink.........floppy limp leads point to bad ( make and break ) ht connections.....the leads should be the same length.......the lt coil is tween the yellow? and the green earth wires only, whilst the ht are 2 coils wired in series inside the ht coil unit.
has your a kick start??
