Hi guys, I was wondering if any member has ever owned or had a wee shot of a turbo bike, not the drag racing kind, a production model. XJ and CX comes to mind. Curious.
Gee.

Hello gee in the 80s they were more a publicity stunt than arm ripping power.they were small turbos a way to stop turbo lag you got a bit more power that improved acceleration I have road the xj and the kawasaki gpz was not impressed by the 90s we had bikes hitting 150hp enny way.the bikes that did give me brown underwear was a 1200 bandit and a r1 street fighter that was just silly. Today with modern fuel injection and engine management you can turbo enny engine there is a company do kits for honda 50s.superchargers are the way to go .I acquired a sachs madass 50 that I have grafted a 210 zongsten engine into the frame there is a company that do small superchargers and there no that expensive

Alas, No, and I've only actually been the XJ650T and the Kawasaki GPZ750 Turbo in a showroom , never actually saw the CX /.XN85 in the flesh at all... Absolutely love the XJ650T Yamaha.

never ridden one, tbh the factory ones dont interest me at all, the only semi production turbo bike I'd like to own would be the Z1TC

I have a hankering for a CX500 turbo. I won't need 3 mint Dreams. Not sure about parts though and the pricing of them. Will need to do.my homework.
Ooooh it's a CX or a CB750 K series, not much difference.
Gee.

I had a Suzuki XN85 I bought for £300 with a knackered output bearing , went well enough once fixed but no better than a 750 so besides the cachet of the badge not really worth the extra complication imo .
If you want one get one while you can :-) .

I have ridden the CX650 Turbo and the GPZ750 Turbo. It was a while back, but two very different beasts - the CX650 was quite mild feeling, quick, but not fast - the GPZ750 was insane (remebering this is a while back), I remeber cracking to throttle open on the M23 slip road at Crawley, it hesitated a bit, but when it came on boost it accelerated faster than anything I had ever been on up to that point. I was in 3rd gear and the front wheel lifted so I had to back off. It felt way faster that the GPZ900 and 1100, I rode on the same day but it could just have been the power delivery. If I could find one at a decent price I would have it tomorrow!

But as you say, its the way the power comes on, I prefer something that is controllable these days, my ZX12r was sheer speed in any gear, but controllable with great brakes. The CX650 turbos are even more rare than the 500's, not so sure about a 650, but then again, its not going to get much use....500 would suit though. A more rare bike is the XJ750E, same as the 650 but with 750cc....hhhmmmnnn, seen one once and I could touch it....ahhh the days. Gee.

I had seen this one Buster but too rough. I don't fancy the XJ turbo anyway, just the carb versions 650/750. Gee
