Hi SteveGBR, yes you. You manufactured these a good few years ago...any chance you can do them again?

Though "in use" there would be no nipple, only a plastic cap, but it would give the option to connect every few years, to keep the stand rotating on the pin (still to check the x 1.0 pitch against the actual nipple......

I've got a spindle in my spares box Steve, if it's any use to you. There are some differences compared with John's drawing though, The diameter is 18.5 - 18.7mm, but 18.9mm between the groove & the end cap (on the right in the drawing), so a bit of wear? The overall length is 144mm compared to 146mm, so a bit of a difference there, but the end cap is 4.1mm, so about the same

There does seem to be a bit of variation of where the groove is under the head, I've added the smallest measurement I have found, in the second set of set brackets on the sketch. 8.9mm fits within that size variation I've come across.
The 144 Vs 146mm is the addition of the 1 x 2mm nose on the end of the pipe.

that 5mm drill going to a depth of 68mm could be a problem as it may run of centre at that depth, if you want a grease nipple, what is the shortest depth we can get a way with.
just a thought, would the grease nipple hit anything as it will stick out.

Steve, you are asking the forever young guys to get down on the deck and look for clearance. Now then, with no guarantee for getting back up, I will check with a pic. If for some reason you never hear from me again......................
