On Friday I once again drive down to Nottingham. This time taking my XJS to its new owner. I shall return by CB400t, a full rebuild with 39 miles on its new engine and 300 miles on a bike that needs run in. Looking forward to it I am not, I will be over the moon on the Saturday morning once it's all done. Gee

Don't envy you that trip.. Out of curiosity I thought I'd consult the owners handbook to see what Mr Honda recommends for your performance limits whilst running in, at 80% of available output in any gear hopefully it won't be too miserable an experience. Hope the weather holds up for you and the gremlins leave you in peace.

That's good news, I was thinking it was 6000rpm, I could get between 70 and 80 mph now. That will make it more bearable. Good info, thanks. Gee.

I would agree with your 6000 rpm estimate as a sensible limit for most of the trip especially at the start of the journey, and only use the higher limit only to relieve the boredom for short spurts or to get out of trouble.

That's me home, safe and sound but sore.
Never again will I ride anything that distance under 1000cc
And with no cruise control.
Or heated seats or grips.
Or a fairing.
Managed 50mpg though and did keep her under 6500 rpm for 300 miles.
Wind was hellish.....bath was fantastic, lager even better.
Enjoy your night guys.
Gee.
