I have never used a gel battery for a motorbike, never found the need. I keep them cheap and cheerful, I use Tayna batteries for all my bikes and all my cars, even my XJS has a Powerline battery in it. Keep em trickle charged when not being used for any longer than normal period. Under £30 delivered. www.tayna.co.uk/motorcycle-batteries/powerline/yb12a-a/

Prices for batteries are ridiculous high for what they are. Don't you think.

I have one of these on the last superdream I restored. Working fine. Also use a gel battery on the plane as they don't mind being thrown about. Hold their charge well. Only thing is, you do need a black battery tray, or it will look a bit too orange peeking out under the side panel.

Never gave that a thought about the box. Thanks Steve.

Yes had the same problem and had to source a Battery Box as it looks odd. Did contemplate spraying the Battery side Black LOL if I couldn't source one.

Have one in the 400NC, seems to be fine, no test of longevity yet. A bit of black tape or a quick rub squirt of black paint sorts the contrast in colour Motobatt yellow or atom orange, but better with the tray anyway.
I' like the Motobatt which has the two pairs of terminals, put an extra mini loom on my 250NA to spread the earthing distribution, can modify it though. Shall be getting more atoms as they are they are good value ~(if the NC fires up.)

never had a atom battery but know people that do have not heard any complaints.motobatt been using them for years all my bikes ran them bar one my triumph the 2 years i left all the bikes in the garage every battery was flat the triumph was the only one that came back from the dead.two of my bikes need high cranking power the conventional do not last long .gel batters are very good last a long time but never let them go flat cos you'll be buying another battery
