Bloke in Thurnscoe ,Rotherham was awoken in the middle of the night to find his bike had been torched .He has only just returned to biking after a lay-off of several years . He normally keeps it around the back in his shed but is having some building work done so he cannot gain access to the rear and parked it in his front garden

Torched or an electrical fault leading to the fire?
Fire seems to have been concentrated in the area of the battery/carbs.
Either way, not a pleasant thing to wake up to.

Would anything be re-useable after a fire like this I should imagine the frame would be twisted by the heat

On a plus point, seat pan looks solid and re-useable.

Oh dear. Busy road and bus stop across the way the bike is going to get noticed. Wonder if it was targeted, as the chair/ sofa on the right of the photo seems to have escaped attention....

Shocking. We get quite attached to our bikes and must be a real choker.

It happened to a mate of my dad's four years ago.
Don't leave them out at night.......otherwise they will be a target for the sicko wicks coming home from the pubs/clubs etc
Why? Who knows
