What with the mild midweek weather I decided on Wednesday to make the 15 mile trip into work in Sheffield on my S D which was in supposed hibernation I was a little late setting off and the bike felt unstable so checked the front tyre pressure 15lb so called at fuel station and upto 24lb at lunch nipped out checked tyre which was good left work at 4.45pm in the dark and travelled around a mile and the bike was all over the place so I pulled up to find the back tyre was flat so I pushed the bike to a fuel station to pump up the tyre however I had damaged the inner tube so had to call out the RAC , it was now 5.15pm the RAC told me it was 4 1/2 hours before they would get to me which was about right I told them it was’nt a roadside fix and transport home but they had to send a mech out first so when the mech got to me I had another 2 1/2 hour wait I eventually got home 5 past midnight all because i had’nt checked the rear tyre , what a muppet and lucky one at that , however the experience was’nt all bad thanks to the Asda security guard bringing me hot tea and pizza and the just eat scooter boys with coffee and the scooter rider on his was to Bakewell keeping me company , my faith in mankind as been restored , my bike had’nt been ridden for a little over a week but in future I’ll be checking my tyres before a ride , Please Ride Safe !

I had a similar situation with my Harley a year or so ago. We stopped at Asda, the reason why we were heading out (lager),
My key fob fell on route, couldn't start it when we came out, didn't know then there was a safety code,
The bike sat there for a good few days, always was safe and never moved (I did hear that some staff were taking pics next to it...hahhahaha),
I sent Asda head office an email of thanks for the staff at the store............they have not heard a peep from "Head Office",
Thankfully I had personally thanked each and every one involved personally.
Gee.

Lucky you didn't freeze at that time of night at this time of year Paul. Nice story though, although maybe not for you
