Hey Guys,
Kev here from just outside Edinburgh, Scotland.
I've very recently (as in an hour ago!) taken on a CB250N as a project bike.
It's been delivered in pieces, after the previous owners took it to pieces over 25 years ago and never quite got round to putting the jigsaw back together!
I've done lots of previous Honda Resto's, have my own workshop at home, so know my way around most, but I'm super excited to do this one, my late father's first bike after passing his test was one of these exact bikes (in silver/blue decals).
I'm not sure what exact year this is yet, as the V5 is lost, I'll need to do the dance with DVLA, but frame number is 2116395.
I was born in '81, I suspect it's from around then.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to getting going on this, no doubt to learn some things from you guys soon too!

Hi Kev, welcome along & good luck with the project - keep us posted with a few pics  . Yours sounds like a CB250NA, the 2nd version of the SD with the kickstart deleted. If you look on the CMS parts diagrams & click in the 'info' box it gives the frame & engine number ranges for each model, the 1980 NA being Frame # CB250N-2100006 ~ 2124006 Engine # CB250NE-2100006 ~ 2124015. www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb250n-1980-a-england_model15816/partslist/#.YYw3y07P3IU |

I've also have a CB250NA, in Custom Silver Metallic, and looking forward to your project progress (and photos).
One advantage in this area is that once your finished, you can take it down to South Queensferry, and photograph it with the rail bridge in the background, Magazine article style.
My 250 is the only fully operational bike at this time, and has some temporary parts fitted. Back to standard next summer I hope, once I get another bike reliable.

Saying that, we once did a run up past Tain for the eclipse in March 2015, so we could get the best viewing conditions. Was a bloody cold day, my bike was poorly, so I used my mates B-King (which didn't have heated grips) and we saw every season on the way home. Left at 4am, saw the eclipse, spent the afternoon in Lossie with another mate, and trundled home frozen solid through  |

Oh, the runs up here are excellent, Ullapool is a normal day trip or round Grantown over the back roads but dearth of folk going out locally. Of the two guys I went out with one moved to the hebrides and the other sold his bike recently |
