Interesting about your indicator problem Mark. I had a similar problem on my 400NA many years ago, in fact it was so long ago I'm not sure it wasn't the other way round - the indicators worked with the lights on, but not with them off. Either way, I swapped the indicator relay with the one on a Honda Rebel Gill had at the time & the indicators worked fine on the NA, lights on or off and so did the Rebel indicators with the NA relay - strange!

Hello Ian it's has had this issue all the time I have had the bike.a fast idle its fine but a fast idle annoys me more lights off or on side light indicator fine.changed flasher unit even changed the unit of Charles 250 mine works fine on his bike and his did not flash on mine at idle.fitted led and all fine as its 40 in April will leave it led as its a better day time running light than the halogen. Do not ride at night as my eyes are painted on.and if it annoys drives good at least I no they have seen me

Regarding the indicator issue: as a thought, could this be a 'dirty earth' issue related to the relay?
Are there significant voltage level differences at the relay at idle and fast idle? If there is a poor earth connection, the voltage dropped across a 'dirty earth' could be sufficient to impact the operation of the relay.

Hi Mark Had similar issue with my Superdream which turned out to be a problem with the Fuses and Fuse box getting a bit corroded. So cleaned up and worked fine for a while then had to re-clean again and spray a bit of the WD40 over. So far so good.
Regarding riding with Headlights on I found it was a duel operating switch on mine as it seemed to turn on the optional Cloaking Device!!
