It seems to be working now, I think. If you like the Velocette then you may like the suggestion of a quirky bikes I have tried to buy a few times, An Ariel Arrow or a Leader. They are two stroke weird bikes and I don't think I have ever seen one in the flesh but they look like Dan dare bikes and I would love one!

Very nice Grahamb especially the Triumph,it’s a 650 isn’t it? Best of the Triumphs I’ve had was a 650 Tiger

I had a Leader back in the 70s, great fun & the dummy tank was handy for putting my butties in when I went to work. Not got any pictures of my early bikes, but the Ariel did manage to sneak into the background when I was putting my Spitfire back together after respraying it I gave it to a young lad across the road as a field bike in '78 & got a CB250G5, what a difference! That was it, Jap bikes ever since apart from an encounter with a 3TA in the 90s & my current Interceptor. This Leader makes an appearance at a few classic shows over here every year, but I've never seen it being used. Spotted this Arrow at Jurby a few years back

Not so keen on the post 60's version but the earlier Mk1-3's are lovely cars. The later mk4's just don't look as good. Its funny as I have a 72 Midget that I am rebuilding. The pre 74 cars look lovely nice but the later cars are just too girly for my taste

The B, while different with the rubber bumpers (I had one too 25 years ago) still looks much like it did. The addition of the rubber bumpers to the Midget made the car look effeminate and while I love the previous versions I don't like the post 74 version. The 1500 engine is also rubbish compared to the A series in the earlier ones. I am not so keen on the later Spits either, they look quite girly to me. However the previous versions are really nice looking cars and even look a bit muscular compared to them (despite a smaller engine) Like everything its all a matter of personal taste

Ian your Spitfire has too many wheels🙀🙀 Only joking, nice Ariel. My brother has a Spitfire he intends restoring ( he won’t’cause he’s a lazy bugger ) I had no interest in them, but I was sort of forced onto 4 wheels when the woodruff keyway on my Tiger Cub crank sheared. Took me about half an hour to get to work on the Cub, or nearly 2 hours by bus. It was the middle of winter, so when I got off the bus near home one dark, wet night & saw an old side valve Ford Prefect for £35 in the garage opposite the bus stop, I bought it, thinking I'd run it through the winter while I found a second hand crankshaft & fixed the Cub, then sell it - 'course I never did fix the Cub. Then my cousin's boyfriend got a Frogeye Sprite & I thought 'that's the way to go, should be as much fun as a bike' & spent the next 30 years driving soft tops. After a brief dalliance with a Berkeley T60, I had a Sunbeam Rapier convertible, then that Mk3 Spitfire. My brother gave me the Leader when he passed his bike test & got BSA650. I could only afford old bangers & I realised as well as fun to ride, a bike was also handy back up when the car was off the road for repair. I got a Mk4 Spitfire after the Mk3, but it wasn't as good, so I got a TR6 next - had that 25 years. I got a 1500 Spitfire while the TR6 was off the road for a complete rebuild, but I didn't like that much either.

I loved driving my brothers TR6 he bought it 1983 I bought my MG same time,I put a tuned engine in my B a Janspeed gas flowed head/exhaust/racing distributor/Webber twin choke sounded great but still crap car 😁 brother sold the TR6 3 years ago it was the last but one injected 150 bhp off the line and he hadn’t used it since 1989.

Mine was one of the first 150bhp 6s, a '69. I bought it in '76. It had been painted metallic purple - well it was the 70's . Got made redundant the following year & splashed the cash on those Cobra super slots. This was on holiday in Jersey, that's my pal Mike's next to it. I had to run it in on the way down, I'd rebuilt the engine & ordered a reconditioned metering unit & injectors from Cox & Buckles. They got 'lost' in the post & eventually turned up a couple of days before we were due to go! A few years later I sprayed it red & fitted a TR4 surrey top so that I could enjoy the top down and the dog could still lie on the shelf in the back To get back on track, I sold it in 2001 as I no longer had a garage, but I kept the bike
