Having lived over here for 30 odd years, I've been to many TTs. Got loads of 'photos, but nothing to compare with that video - brilliant! My over riding memory of the races ? It was TT a few weeks after I'd moved there, and one day things were quiet at work, so I nipped along to Bray Hill to watch it for the first time. It took my breath away - literally! The bikes came down the hill so fast you could feel the air around you being sucked away & into the vacuum behind them. One of the most amazing things is how they can do those speeds on those roads - I ride on them & they have me bouncing around at 50mph .

I have had a couple of trips. First in the early 80's with my Dad on his 750 BMW. I was taking him back when the racing had ended and the bloody thing began to make a god awful noise as we were blatting along. Then from underneath me flew a sidecar unit who had fixed a breakdown and was also heading back. I was certain I had busted his bike with him actually on the back as I did it. So relieved 😳 Second time was a day out from Cheshire for the seniors race. A one hour flight from the farm strip to IOM with 40 minutes over the water on a single engine. Spent the day in Bradden church yard enjoying bacon butties courtesy of the WI bless em. Back home for a pub meal and a few beers. Brilliant day. Shame it's not on.

I have been quite a few times, by RIB from Whithorn and by Ferry from Heysham. I intended going back last year, then next year and now don't know when. I always say to anyone who has even a passing interest in bikes that they need to go at least once, the experience is brilliant

Braver than me, weather can get a bit rough and foggy out away from land. last time I did it it took 1.5 hours going down to Douglas and 3.5 hours coming back as the weather turned nasty.
