Mate of mine had a Spitfire running with the GP carbs on he was a learner so stuck a sidecar chasis on to it🙀 It through a rod through the crankcase as he overtook my T90.He had it welded and rebuilt then sold it on.Fast bike in the day, faster than a Bonne I believe

Mine is not bike related, I have had the 172 Clio Cup since new, 2002. I used to sell them. In the process of having a small fortune spent on it. Gee.

I got the Spit delivered a while ago and it has spent the last month up on the table getting tweaked and fettled. The resto on it was 15 years ago so new tyres, lots of the rubber parts bing changed and some fettling of bits that were not original being done for the summer. The engine was rebuilt by SRM with the CR was lowered to the Lightning spec and the carbs changed to the Spit Mk 3 type, away from the original GP's. This makes it less likely to blow up but reduces performance to not much more than lightning spec but I am happy with this, it won't be racing anyway and I would rather get home every time than have a high chance of blowing it up when I take it out. Adding to this thread I have my XS750 I finished rebuilding last year.

I've always fancied a f650, never seen one at the price I'm willing to pay.

I've always fancied a f650, never seen one at the price I'm willing to pay. Parts are expensive, but easy over the counter to get, but very reliable bikes, the only thing I hated was the dry sump, could never be sure of the correct oil level

wifes peg bag holder now the veg bag holder,Did not want this bike was wanting a bonne put the word out and got a call from a friend that a friend of a friend as a triumph 750 wants it gone he is fed up with it wants it gone.so went down to grantham thinking it was a late 750 twin till i got there and seen the trident this was in 2008.At the time you could not get much for them nobody wanted them.but with 853 miles on the clock and the history to verify this i thought 2K was not a bad price. The history in 1974 it was sent over to the states in a crate with two more but triumph went to the wall and no dealers would accept deliveries and was sent back to europe were it was stored in a warehouse in zeeburger till 1996 when the contents was auctioned off a private collector who registered it for the first time with a 1974 uk reg.then in 2006 the collection was sold off and then a gap in the history till i got it in 2008.it had 853 on the clock now as 8251.it is as it left meriden but fore the uk bars uprated front brake and electronic ignition the mods make it better on todays roads and it runs very well .was in mind to sell last year as i was having trouble with the gears not the bikes fault it was me.its now waiting for spring as am i.

Great story Mark, I know very little about them, well that was until I seen this one, pretty sure I have posted it before, but here it is again, its cousin the BSA. I would need to sell some of mine before I could afford one.
