got my insurance renewal for my van and its gone up no shock there but by 87p a month more this will be the first time i have let a insurance roll on for about 20 years i just hope i get the same good news in january when the bike is due

I would advise you to take a look on the comparison sites anyway. My insurance renewal for my Vstrom 650 came in this week at £114, that's £30 CHEAPER than last year. Great I though I will let it role over. Later I thought I would take a look anyway. Best quote on confused was £68, quote from my existing insurance company (on confused) £78, so if I had let it roll over it would have cost me £46!

I always check as the companies rely on inertia making the costs gradually increase. However I have noticed that this doesn't seem to as bad as it used to, occassionally even after checks so far this year I roll it over which in the past never happened, even my RAC cover didn't go up the second year ( I generally go back and forth between RAC and AA each year taking advantage of the new members deal and it saves me a fortune as I take the full package for all my bikes and cars)
