Morning all
The last of the scheduled Virtual Meets was last Saturday so having been going with them since before the summer I thought I would start a debate on their future, so:-
1) I have always set them up for 17:00 on a Saturday - should that continue - would it be better for other members if we changed the time or day - Suggestions - Should we vary this week by week?
2) What would make other members join, should we try (as well as general banter) a discussion topic of the week for example?
3) What has worked well - What could be improved?
All feed back welcome

Hate to be the first to comment.
Is the forum so disengaged from this?

Hate to be the first to comment. Is the forum so disengaged from this? You have never hated commenting in your life 😂

Yes but I’d hoped someone would go before me. Don’t mind sloppy seconds in this case.

as you know I'v missed a few lately, but its just down to my own personal circumstances (packing my grandfather off in an ambulance with a bleed on the brain and work has been pretty insane since I got back full time) the time works well for me, a topic is an interesting idea, maybe pick something thats got a bit of interest that week on the forum? and yes I am a wuss and didnt want to comment first

I’ve missed a few too of late Buster, I don’t think that’s a problem at all. We all sometimes have commitments and of course, we join when we can. But there is certainly a lack of new blood.
Hard one. I enjoy the chats but I think it’s very hard to get even long term ‘seasoned’ members on here motivated it would seem.

I think it does work well, especially as under current circumstances organizing a physical meet would be problematic and much less frequent. The other thing was pre-2020 I never made it to a physical meet. It also is useful in that people at each end of country can discuss, that would perhaps be less likely to be at the same physical meet. The 17:00 time is fine for me, though it does sometimes clash with some tasty meal deliveries . I think varying the time could be a possibility, and it would be useful if there may be someone that had thought about joining the discussion, but has never been free at that time could comment. I do like it weekly, and thanks for hosting the meets so frequently...3 out of 4 or 2 out of 4 may still be effective... I'm supprised there is not more engagement by more forum members, online meetings are mush more common now, though the online school meeting the other night, using the "Teams" platform, rather than Zoom, most could not connect! ....

I haven't attended these meetings get as I have had the feeling that I would be butting in on a chat between a group of old friends, evidenced by the fact that I am the first person with less than a thousand posts to comment here. This is only a personal feeling and Maybe totally wrong, but if others feel the same then this might explain the lack of new blood. I notice I am now a 'full member', not sure if that's a compliment or not. I will try to attend the meetings in future and see how it goes. I certainly could use the wealth of knowledge on tap.

Hi Sandy, I think you may be correct but I can assure you all will be made welcome, it’s sometimes hard to get a word in but we all do our best to be patient. Hope to see you Saturday as well as any other new or old members.
