My tester has told me that once the bike has become exempt he does a classic test for half the price of a standard test he checks over the bike if it passes you get a certificate but DVLA are'nt told (Hence the half price ) if you get pulled you have a certificate to take down to the station and show them .Sounds like a good idea to me I thought the DVLA only get a couple of quid from the test fee I just had a fish round and found an article saying VOSA had increased the fee from £2 to £2.05 in 2010. I assume thats for cars but I wouldnt think theres much difference for bikes, probably jumps up a bit for HGV's as the testing stations tend to be more regularly inspected by VOSA but again I'm only guessing about that
