love the fact they save money by not putting a halogen headlamp on! I changed mine to a halogen. Much brighter in the lanes I travelled on back then. I used to get home and my leather was covered in moth splats!

I had the full set and binders until about 12 years ago - got sick of the nagging from the Mrs "what do you need these for" so sent them to the charity shop - couple of years later bought my first bike for 30 years Wifey has a lot to answer for

not sure how or why I have these. I just found them while clearing out a draw in my spares cabinate.
I have about 20 from issue 2 to issue 84. I like the workshop articles and reviews, very refreshing and concise and change from the flowery bullshit of modern publishing

68kg Rider in stone is aroon 10. I am now 11+......7 stone....aye 18 stone or there about. 90mph? I was once 11 stone when I had my SD and never reached 90, never ever, not even downhill or over a cliff. I love these articles. Where they paid to give a good one? Not slagging the SD guys but come oan...90mph. Just my thoughts. Gee.

You’re right Gee.
The bike in the article is blue. So not a hope in hell of seeing 90.
But trust me - I saw 96 on the clocks on my silver 250 deluxe in Redditch, 2008. Dual carriageway it was.

Nick, I kid you not. Just before I posted this i was going to post an addendum about silver... There you go. I once had a friend...just once...that did reach over 90mph, his was silver, a 79 T Kicker, a fast bike. It did pull well, the guys did work on it, so it was tight. I drove it and it did pull well from the off, for a 250. My newer black (1980) got to 80 and a fraction. Eating time,bye the nooo. Gee.

I reckon 90 was viable on the clock.....my original CB400T would hit 110 on the clock (allegedly) (so I would guess about 102-105 in reality). I must of been braver back then, cause my current 400T feels very unstable at much less than that (though its probably that I am used to modern bikes). I seem to remember that 80-85 was about it for 4 stroke 250s of the era with maybe 90-95 for two strokes (except the X7 and LC which were quicker)
