On a roll here tonight or in Nick's case next morning...just another thought. Taken from a post that i commented on a few weeks ago and someone mentioned the authenticity of a rebuild. Side casing on the original SuperDream were not polished all nice and shiny, they looked...em...em..not dull but certainly not polished. My Q is. How do get it back to standard, can you? Is it possible to de-shine a casing back to original? BTW, its Stella tonight. Gee.x hoc or is it hic.

I would think it is going to be very difficult to go back to that finish now. You can certainly age metal using oil and a little heat. It would be great to find out if it could be done.

If you have polished to mirror finish you can use autosomal and fine wire wool to achieve a finish close to original.

(Joke) So you use old jeans ('genes') do you? (Autosomal - any chromosome that is not a sex chromosome) I use Autosol it is less rare :-) Dennis
