Question time. It's about UK registration of this bike. In fact any bike coming in from Germany, USA wherever.
Perhaps Brit Pete is best poised to answer this one.......here goes....
First, Carl's ND here - made early 83.......registered a year later in early 84. Does this mean it will get a Y or A plate?
My Bonneville......made November 2003 but officially a 2004 model on the log book (title).....so in the UK will it be a 53 or 04?
Finally my BSA......unsure when it was actually made but registered as a 1972 here.......I suspect it was a late 1971 build.....so what would it end up on if bought to the UK a K or L suffix?
Questions questions......

Questions questions...... If he registers it with the German Logbook - which they will retain - A plate If registered with a dating letter from Honda Y Plate - I would go for this option So in essence Registration date if you can prove it Manufacture date if not or you prefer to do it that way

Correct Pete, I think it will be on a Y plate, as I have sent off for a dating certificate from Honda UK. This may look odd when it sits next to my three NC’s as they are on Y, A and B plates.

I’m not a great lover of top boxes and panniers, I know they are practical but I don’t plan on touring and as they stop you lifting the seat off, I have decided to remove them. Furthermore, no keys came with the bike for the two locks. One key for the pannier cases, (that lock was open so you could open and close the cases), and one key for the quick release latches to take the cases off the frame, (that one was locked 😡) so you couldn’t lift the cases off the frame.

I reckon you can get new locks for those cases....don't junk them....someone will want them.

P.S - are the genuine grab rails behind that rack or have they gone?

So there wasn’t any grab rails, so my parts bin was raided. The sticker is the colour code. And finally when I checked the contents of the tool bag guess what?
