hi all hands up those totally fed up with not being able to ride - ah well i suppose it gives us time to fix-em up in anticipation which brings me onto my point - CB250 Nighthawk has anyone got an opinion on them - i have a Jawa 350 sport 1997 great condition 12000 miles that i bought off a friend - BUT its a bit QUERKIE for me so i was thinking of selling/exchanging it for a CB 250 nighthawk has anybody got one or had one - any opinions on them i understand they are a single carb twin based on the superdream - my needs area commuter that easy to handle in city traffic and can take in some scenic local rides after work
i intend to keep my CB450 DX for bigger rides any known faults on 250 nighthawk thanks - hang in there this isolation cant go on for ever although it feels like it Tony

the engine is not really anything to do with a superdream. its closest relation is probably the old cd200 (damn good little engine) as its a roller bearing crank with no balance shaft and a two valve/cylinder head. I heard of a guy back in the early nineties who despatched on a cd200 and did 96000 miles, when he stripped the engine for an overhaul he only had to change rings and cam chain.

thanks Buster youre always informative funny enough i always wanted a CD (i think they used to be called Benly didnt they) - i missed out on one in York for sale a couple of years ago and regularly see it on my way to work - so it appears to be going strong without a balancer shaft wouldnt they be a bit vibey? cheers mate Tony

not vibey that I recall, had the 185 version years ago, just a solid little bike that ran well. I'm not sure why they labelled them benly, maybe to set them aside from the cb range.
